I'm speaking at wordpress

I am happy to announce that I will be speaking at Wordcamp Providence October 27th. The subject of my talk will be Evergreen SEO for WordPress.

The focus being on doing search engine optimization that will last for the long term. There are seemingly thousands of conflicting viewpoints as to what is best practice for helping your site to rank better within the search engines. We will discuss an enduring view of SEO that will increase ranking for the long term, through evergreen SEO.

It seems like every day I hear someone sounding scared about losing there ranking in the search engines, or not getting any ranking at all.  The idea that you shouldn’t do SEO because Google will de-index you site is very prevalent.  The fact of the matter is that nothing can be further from the truth.

If you are being smart about how you go about you go about it SEO is still very effective.  You just need to do it correctly.  In my opinion it better to be conservative and take a little longer to rank, then it is to rank fast but then lose that ranking because you were not going about it the right way.

I will get off my soap box now and leave the rest of my talk for the conference 😉

If you have not signed up for the conference yet, I would suggest you don’t wait too long.  Tickets are going fast, and I should be a great day to increase your WordPress skills.  Not to mention of course the free swag!
